Agenda 2030 – achieving sustainable development in a conflict-ridden world
Sweden works both nationally and internationally to achieve the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Not only government departments, public authorities and municipalities are engaged in the work, but also institutes and organizations, such as the peace research institute SIPRI. To the next seminar in our series about Sweden’s responsibility for the implementation of the Agenda 2030, we have invited Dan Smith, the Director of SIPRI.
In what ways are security and development linked? How can goal 16 (to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels) be achieved in a more and more conflict-ridden world? What is needed for the new development framework to purposefully help prevent conflict and insecurity in the world?
After a presentation by Dan Smith, Lennart Wohlgemuth (FUF) and Gabriella Irsten (politisk handläggare, IKFF) will pose questions. There will also be time for questions from the audience.
